Happy Wednesday

This week so far......

Went to the doctor yesterday. He looked at my knee, poked it, squeezed it, bent it. Then he did the same to the other one. "You have bad knees" he said.
He did not recommend surgery, said it only leads to more surgery. He did tell me to exercise, eat healthy and lose weight.
He said to wear better shoes, strengthen my upper and lower legs to support my knees better and don't run or even walk (for exercise, I HAVE to walk some). Aerobic exercise, pilates and yoga, swimming, biking, etc. He said to take Advil as needed but not to exceed 2,400 mgs. a day.

We bought an elliptical machine today.
I am going to see the specialist at a later time and get an MRI but I will try the other stuff first.

I finally have my hair appt. tomorrow. It has been way too long. They could not get me in when it was good for me. I am going back to highlights and lowlights. No more all over color.

Ponytail day

We picked a date for sister's weekend in Eureka Springs. I am so ready.

These are seriously good. And chocolate and fruit are both good for you. That punk doctor should be proud of me.

Had a Skinny Peppermint Mocha yesterday. Yum!

My sister got engaged yesterday. In Central Park. Congratulations D and T!!!!

I have been home for 2 hours and Molly has been barking the entire time. I want to grab the spatula and beat her with it. I won't though.

Do I need words?
Sooo excited.

Not excited enough to sit in a crowded theater with people a third of my age. I shall wait til next weekend.

It is cold. Really cold. I hate the cold.

The big one moved out. Halloween weekend he went to a party with friends and called to say he was staying there. He had a small duffel bag and little money. He said if he came home he would never leave . He had an audition (singing) at a college and jobs at both Express and Aldo. Both of these jobs require nice clothing so I have no idea what he has been wearing and he hasn't called. For a few days I was devastated. Then I told God I was putting it in His hands and I moved on. His car is still here (he doesn't get it since we pay for it) and he is coming here tomorrow to pick up his clothes. We have gotten back into a routine around here and it has been peaceful with him gone so I wish him the best but he is 21. He will either succeed or fail.

After a really good day, I came home to this:

No, Kim was not in my house. She WAS in my mailbox.
That entire band of idiots annoy me. How are they so famous??

Then I see this ad a few pages into my magazine:
Kardashian Kolors nail polish.
Top row, left to right: All Kendall-ed Up, Sealed with a Kris, Kim-pletely In Love, Khloé Had a Little Lam-Lam, Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi, Rainbow in the S-kylie. Bottom row, left to right: Disco Dolls, Listen to Your Momager!, Wear Something Spar-kylie, It's All About the Glam, Follow Me on Glitter, Kendall on the Katwalk, My Empire... My Rules.
Gag me.

Ok I just gave too much blog time to idiocy.

I bought these Monday:
Size Matters
Bobbing For Baubles
Congeniality Is My Middle Name
I have a sickness.

I am off to do some constructive stuff.

  1. Enjoy your hair appointment. Love the nail colors you chose. Congrats to your sister! I hope you have a good rest of the week.

  2. You have got to be kidding me. BAD KNEES. When's the MRI. What if there is a meniscus tear or something causing the pain? Hang tough. I have had knee problems for years and sometimes it takes more than exercise to fix what's broken. But if you're okay with this diagnosis??? I'd get a second opinion. Well your sister is one lucky lady. What a buildup. Congratulations to her and the boyfriend. Never seen the cherry cordial M&M's. When our young ones fly the coop to be on their own, we worry. But when they succeed we burst with pride. I hope things work out for him. I really do. You take care of yourself.

  3. Relax at the salon and enjoy yourself. I just knew your sister was going to get engaged after your other Blog post. Congrats to her!!

Blehhhhh on what the doc said about your knees but thank heavens no surgery. It seems he would have at least put you on a prescription anti-inflammatory. Hmph!

Have not tried the skinny peppermint Mocha yet. Starting tomorrow through Sunday, you can buy one get one free at Starbucks (2pm-5pm only). YUM.

I saw the K polishes tonight at Walmart. Husband and Moi looked at each other and rolled our eyes. Gag is right. Twice over.

Love the new polishes you got. I left with two new Essie ones...Brownie Points and Angora Cardi. I have a serious addiction to polish. *throwing my hands up in the air*

  4. Congrats to your sister!

Follow your docs orders, and get those knees back in shape.

Why doesn't my hair look as good as yours in a ponytail? I just have crappy, thin hair!

I know what you mean about the Kardashians. They make me want to puke.

Love the polish colors. Hate the cold weather, too!

  5. I just discovered OPI and Essie this summer, love the array of colors, one for every mood. The thing is that I only use them on my toes. My fingernails are always frenched. My latest OPI's were Clubbing til Sunrise for Thanksgiving, Bling Dynasty for Christmas and Crown Me Already for New Years. Also enjoy just reading some of the crazy names.

It won't hurt to get a second opinion, well maybe a little. Hope you get some relief.

  6. Congrats to your sister and her fiancee! What a great place to propose; I'm sure they will remember their trip and adventures always! Wishing them much happiness!

So wise just to turn Big One to God; that's all we can do. I literally say in my prayers "Lord, you are the only one that can help him" and lay him at Jesus' feet (talking about son here).

Glad you got the date scheduled for weekend away with sisters at Eureka Springs!

Elliptical machines are great! Should be great for your knee!

I'm going to have to check out those cordial M&M's. They could be very dangerous I fear!

  7. You look cute no matter what you do to your hair, you know. I hate that you have a bad knee. That totally sucks!

And I'm really hoping things work out ok for your son.

  8. So wait - do you have TWO sisters getting married now?

Kids. He will fail and he will succeed and you will be there when he comes home on both occasions. It's what we do.

  9. Congrats to your sister!

What the h do dr's know, huh. I agree, though, that good shoes are key to getting to the pain free - knees, back, and feet.

    Barf on the Kardashians.

I had my hair done yesterday. There is nothing like being pampered! Yesterday was just color touch up. December is color, highlights, and cut. I love the whole enchilada!

As hard as it, you have the right attitude about the big one. Tough love is never easy.
